Dr. Jennifer Dunn to Present at TEDxPiscataquaRiver

“Using Data to Motivate Change” explores the science behind tests

Dover, N.H.—May 3, 2016—Dr. Jennifer Dunn, Director of Psychometrics, Research, and Data and Reporting at Measured Progress, is one of 11 speakers featured at a local, independently organized TED (Technology, Entertainment, and Design) event. TEDxPiscataquaRiver takes place on May 6, 2016, in Portsmouth, NH, with the theme “On the Edge.”

Dr. Dunn’s presentation, “Using Data to Motivate Change,” explores psychometrics, the science behind testing. In her talk, Dr. Dunn shares her own fascination with the fundamental concepts of testing validity and reliability. She encourages listeners to probe beneath the surface of commonly reported data so that they can understand the true “story” in the data, and use their understanding to help motivate change around them.

Drawing on over fifteen years of psychometric experience, Dr. Dunn serves as the primary psychometric advisor for Measured Progress, providing strategic psychometric support through the designs and implementation of research initiatives that inform all aspects of educational assessment. Dr. Dunn earned her Ph.D. in psychometrics from the University of Toronto.

TEDxPiscataquaRiver is an annual community-organized TEDx event. Independently organized TEDx events take place in thousands of regions around the world, under license from TED.
