Robert R. Keller III, Ed.D.

Psychometrician

A Measured Progress psychometrician since 2007, Dr. Keller has been involved in various operational tasks for statewide assessment programs, including Maine, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Kentucky. His psychometric work for the programs included item parameter estimation, test form equating, and test score scaling. He has developed numerous computer applications to perform a wide variety of operational psychometric services, and is the lead developer of the integrated psychometric automation and research tool currently under active development. This software has already improved work flow, allowing for greater quality control and improved efficiencies.

Prior to his tenure at Measured Progress, Dr. Keller worked as a research assistant at University of Massachusetts, as an intern at UMass Medical School, and at Measured Progress. While at the University of Massachusetts, Dr. Keller also taught courses and presented seminars on computer programming and automating data display.

Dr. Keller's research interests include topics in item response theory, test equating, computer adaptive testing, and automated test assembly. Additionally, he has been involved in research projects related to program evaluation, and evaluating the results of a large-scale national testing program. He has presented many research papers at regional, national, and international psychometric and educational research conferences, and currently has several papers in review for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Keller is a member of the American Educational Research Association, the National Council of Measurement and Evaluation, The Northeast Educational Research Association, and Psychometric Society.

Dr. Keller holds an Ed.D. in educational measurement and psychometric methods, and a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, both from the University of Massachusetts.
