Open Response

In our continued commitment to supporting educational progress through assessment programs that are closely integrated with curriculum and instruction and powerful professional development, Measured Progress has partnered with like-minded organizations.

Collaborations

Through our collaborations with our partners, we provide professional development opportunities in the form of multi-day workshops, conferences and institutes on standards and assessment. We also exhibit and conduct sessions at national conferences. As we continue to expand our programs, working collaboratively with other organizations allows us to meet the needs of more educators in varying locales around the country.

One such collaborative is with the National Middle School Association (NMSA). This organization is dedicated to improving the educational experiences of young adolescents by providing vision, knowledge, and resources to all who serve them in order to develop healthy, productive, and ethical citizens. With over 30,000 members, NMSA is the only national educational association dedicated exclusively to young adolescents. Through this collaboration, we are able to bring targeted programs and products about standards and assessment.

Our collaboration with the New England League of Middle Schools (NELMS) brings this vision of developmentally appropriate practices closer to home. This organization is celebrating 30 years of service to middle level educators, students, and parent/community members.

Working with educators at the university/college level is the mission of our collaborative with Bridgewater State College (BSC).  BSC is one of the largest teaching colleges in New England. Measured Progress will conduct a summer institute in collaboration with BSC on a variety of topics, focusing on the improvement of teaching and learning in a standards-based environment.

Our new collaboration with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)/Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (CASI) opens up opportunities for educators in other regions of the United States. SACS/CASI accredits over 13,000 schools and systems throughout the United States and overseas. Today, SACS/CASI is the global leader in helping schools improve student learning through accreditation. Measured Progress will exhibit and present at their December conference in Atlanta, Georgia, and hold a collaborative two-day workshop in March. Plans are underway for a summer institute as well.

Measured Progress continues its collaborative work with Assessment Training Institute.  Rick Stiggins founded the Assessment Training Institute to foster the use of balanced assessment systems that lead to improved student learning. Such systems include both assessment OF learning (summative) and assessment FOR learning (formative). ATI resources are designed to assist teacher and administrator teams in gaining assessment expertise and implementing effective, student-involved, formative assessment programs.

With these collaborations comes exciting and powerful professional development. We look forward to working with districts and schools as they continue to pursue quality instruction and practices that ensure achievement for all of their students.
