Student Test Workstation

The Student Test Workstation (STW) is an advanced application that provides a secure, intuitive testing environment for students, regardless of platform (Windows® and Macintosh®) and monitor specifications (e.g., size, resolution, video card, or color-depth settings).

At the direction of the test proctor, the STW imports the test from the test delivery server. Test data is stored on local drives in an encrypted format and decrypted one question at a time into active memory. The Student Test Workstation uses an adaptive, vector-based interface to maintain comparability across a broad range of monitor sizes and settings. Students are not able to copy, print, or save tests. The STW also includes useful test-taking tools such as a test map and calculator.
