System Security Features

Because high-stakes assessments require the utmost attention to system and data security, we designed our system from the ground up with robust security in mind.

  • You can establish user permissions to determine who in your organization can access which system features and data. Each user is given a unique user name and password.
  • The “smart-client” software solution offers greater security than standard browsers. Students cannot visit Web sites, copy test content, send or receive messages, or bookmark material.
  • Powerful 128-bit encryption certified by VeriSign protects user, test, and student-response data.
  • Test content is kept on secure Test Delivery Servers and distributed to the Student Test Workstations only at test-delivery time.
  • The Student Test Workstation software decrypts test content only in the computer’s active memory and “locks out” other applications during test delivery. If a student manages to exit the application itself, the proctor is notified instantly.
  • The system provides hardware-redundant backup of student responses after each question is answered.
  • Server redundancy allows the system to continue, even if one of the servers fails.
