Assessments for General Education

Measured Progress is an independent, not-for-profit organization entirely focused on measuring what students are learning and improving instruction in standards-based classrooms.

Since 1983, Measured Progress has successfully allied with more than half of the states across the country on assessment programs affecting millions of students. We help our clients comply with federal mandates by designing and implementing customized assessments for general education.

Consistent with sound education theory and federal regulations, all of our programs are standards-based. For both accountability and diagnostic purposes, we use such diverse instruments as

  • assessments with selected-response, short-answer, constructed-response, and extended-response items;
  • performance events;
  • individually administered tests; and
  • portfolios.

We have also developed new techniques for analyzing and reporting assessment results, making them useful for parents, educators, policy makers, and the general public.
