KentuckyMeasured Progress works with the Kentucky Department of Education on the Commonwealth Accountability Testing System (CATS), a standards-based assessment system designed to test approximately 650,000 students each year in grades 3 through 12. CATS includes the Kentucky Core Content Test (KCCT), Writing Portfolios, and the Alternate Assessment Program. The KCCT is used to assess reading, mathematics, science, social studies, arts and humanities, practical living and vocational studies, and on-demand writing. In spring 2007, online administration powered by Firefly from Measured Progress was provided for students requiring testing accommodations. Students testing online are able to make use of assistive technology software such as text and screen readers as prescribed by their IEP or 504 plans. Firefly will continue to be offered for students requiring an online accommodation for the September and spring 2008 test administrations.
