Florida Alternate Assessment
The Florida Department of Education has worked with Measured Progress to develop an alternate assessment program for students with significant cognitive disabilities. A field test was administered in the fall of 2007. Approximately 22,000 students will take the Florida Alternate Assessment Operational Test in the spring of 2008. The assessment consists of test items in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 10, writing in grades 4, 8, and 10, and science in grades 5, 8, and 11.
