Edwards Named Assistant Vice PresidentDover, NH Dr. Elizabeth Edwards has been named assistant vice president, Testing and Professional Development Services, for Measured Progress. Edwards, who has been affiliated with Measured Progress since 1999, has served since 2002 as director of Educational Markets Development. In her new position, she will oversee publishing, curriculum and assessment, professional development, and content-based scoring operations for the Dover-based producer of large-scale assessments, professional development services, and curriculum development products. Edwards brings to her new position an impressive background in education, both as a teacher and in a variety of administrative roles. After gaining extensive experience at the school and district levels, she served for eight years as director of the Division of Curriculum and Assessment Development for the Kentucky Department of Education. During her tenure, the Kentucky Education Reform Act of 1990, a sweeping education initiative, was implemented. Edwards earned Master and Doctor of Education degrees from the University of Louisville, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kentucky. She has served as associate director of the National Study of School Evaluation, president of the National Middle School Association, and on the boards of numerous professional, community, and philanthropic organizations. “I am pleased that Betty is taking on this new responsibility,” said Measured Progress President and Chief Executive Officer Stuart R.
