“Giving and Generous” Measured Progress Employees Share Donations with Local Organizations

Dover, NH—November 22, 2006—Measured Progress employees are spreading some holiday cheer as they provide much-needed donations to two organizations in Boulder County. The Measured Progress Scoring Center in Longmont has selected the Outreach United Resource Center (OUR Center) and the Boulder County Cares Project for charitable giving during the holiday season. These organizations align with Measured Progress’s commitment to students by providing vital support to families and children.

The Longmont Scoring Center is a branch of the Dover, New Hampshire-based nonprofit Measured Progress. Chris Hood, a project manager at the facility, said that staff at the Longmont Center decided to organize a charity drive because they wanted to bring the giving spirit of Measured Progress to the company’s Colorado facility. “Giving is what we do,” he said. “It is who we are.”

The OUR Center has worked since 1986 to provide resources to help people facing short-term hardships meet their basic needs and move toward self-sufficiency. Donations such as non-perishable food items, diapers and personal care items will help the OUR Center to meet its priority goal of assisting families with children.

Measured Progress employees are donating sleeping bags, blankets, socks, tents, tarps and winter clothing to aid the Boulder County Cares Project in its mission of providing life-sustaining supplies and other assistance to all people of Boulder County who are at risk because of homelessness.

Hood says that the response from staff at the Longmont Center has been very encouraging. “The people here are very giving and generous,” he said, noting that the day after the charity drive was announced donations were already pouring in. Measured Progress employees have donated boxes of food, clothing and supplies to help the two organizations in their mission of helping others.
